Environmental policy

Tietokeskus Finland Oy contributes to the environment and the surrounding society as a provider of ICT services and hardware to both the public sector and B2B customers. Our goal is to provide our customers with services that combine quality and customer focus, accountability, performance, development and flexibility. Through these, we are putting the principles of sustainable development into practice. Our goal is to grow profitably while also respecting the environment.

To achieve its environmental goal, Tietokeskus:

• Complies with all environmental legislation and respect the laws governing its activities.
• Helps customers to reduce their own environmental impact.
• Continuously assesses the environmental risks of its operations, with a view to eliminating them.
• Actively reduces the negative environmental impacts of its activities by improving its own operations and processes.
• Encourages staff to be responsible and active on environmental issues through communication.
• Evaluates the current state of environmental issues through feedback and measurement, in line with the continuous improvement approach.
• Requires key subcontractors and partners to commit to policies that support the implementation of Tietokeskus’ environmental policy.
• Commits to contributing to the prevention of pollution in all its activities

Tietokeskus’ environmental objectives include eco-efficient equipment logistics, equipment lifecycle management, recycling, waste sorting and the development of ICT service models with environmental considerations. A key objective is to reduce CO2 emissions in cooperation with data centre services, warehouse logistics and partners. Tietokeskus’ current environmental policy has been approved by the Board of Directors.
