Tietokeskus awarded ISO 14001 environmental certification

Tietokeskus’ IT equipment logistics and lifecycle services have been awarded the ISO 14001:2005 environmental certification on 9 May 2022. The certification, granted by Bureau Veritas Finland, recognises the long-term work carried out to promote environmental responsibility and sustainable development.

The Bureau Veritas ISO 14001 certification is an international, audited environmental management system that supports organisations in improving their processes and practices. To receive the certification, a company must comply with legislation, identify the environmental impacts of its operations, and set clear goals and measures for reducing those impacts.

Tietokeskus’ environmental objectives include efficient and environmentally responsible equipment logistics, lifecycle management, recycling, waste sorting, and the development of ICT service models with environmental considerations in mind. A key objective is to reduce CO₂ emissions in cooperation with data centre services, equipment logistics, and strategic partners.

“Environmental responsibility has always been a central part of how Tietokeskus operates. This certification is proof of our commitment to responsible actions. It gives us a solid foundation to continue our concrete work for the environment in the years to come,” says Janne Lipiäinen, CEO of Tietokeskus.
