“Our expertise lies somewhere completely different from IT,” says Jyrki Peltola, CEO of Suomen Räjäytyslouhinta.
When Suomen Räjäytyslouhinta needed IT services to support its operations, Tietokeskus was the only provider able to offer a package suitable for a small company’s needs.
“Suomen Räjäytyslouhinta now uses Microsoft O365 services, F-Secure cybersecurity, and Azure file storage in its daily operations. In addition, user support, backup services, and server monitoring are in place. Together, this forms the complete, functional IT environment for a small business,” explains Tietokeskus sales representative Niko Nylander.
The company required a lightweight, cloud-based solution for document management. “We received proposals for all sorts of heavy-duty systems. We just wanted a normal network drive that works like the C and D drives on a computer, but accessible online to everyone, anytime, anywhere. This way we could store and edit files for shared use and manage access as needed,” describes the need, Jyrki Peltola explains.
IT services become necessary as the business grows
Start-ups often struggle for too long on their own, but at some point, it becomes clear that purchasing IT services is a wise investment. What is that point?
“When revenue and the company grow, you need to get IT under control. The critical moment usually comes when data collection is no longer manageable internally. Multiple people work from different locations, sometimes on the road, sometimes from home. Data needs to be stored and accessible regardless of where a person is physically located. That’s when functional IT becomes essential,” Peltola explains.
“Information gets lost in emails, and it’s impossible to manage it there. Data must be in one place and organised in folders so everyone can find what they need,” he continues.
“Today, the minimum requirements for a company include Office services, cybersecurity, backup services, and support. The company also needs the latest tools. If a device breaks, there must be backups, and a replacement must be available quickly so that work is not interrupted by malfunctioning equipment,” Nylander adds.
Professional IT support
“We bought from the professionals the services that we wouldn’t have had the time or expertise to build ourselves. Besides, implementing a ready-made product with a professional is much smoother than doing it by trial and error,” Peltola laughs.
“Suomen Räjäytyslouhinta contacts us for procurement and support matters, and we visit them with development ideas. It’s important to us that the customer can reach us easily, knows who to contact, and receives answers as questions arise,” Nylander says.
“If our plans go as expected, our company will grow in the future and will need additional support and ideas. We will then contact Tietokeskus to see if we can build a package suitable for the next stage together,” Peltola concludes contentedly.
